Extended versions of conference papers must contain at least 50% new content.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected that submissions will align with the topics of interest to the above conference, and any questions about the scope of the special issue should be addressed to Dr <a href=\"mailto:pedrojavier.garcia@uclm.es\">Pedro Javier Garcia<\/a> and\/or Dr <a href=\"mailto:jesus.escudero@uclm.es\">Jesus Escudero Sahuquillo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Manuscripts should not exceed 25 pages in length and must be prepared for publication according to the journal\u2019s Author Guidelines (<a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/journal\/10.1002\/(ISSN)1532-0634\/homepage\/la_tex_class_file.htm\">Wiley template<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Papers should be submitted via <a href=\"http:\/\/mc.manuscriptcentral.com\/cpe\">Manuscript Central<\/a> to special issue \u201cHiPINEB2016\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GUEST EDITORS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pedro Javier Garcia, University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain<\/li>\n<li>Jesus Escudero-Sahuquillo, University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>TOPICS OF INTEREST<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The list of topics covered by this Special Issue includes, but is not limited to, the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interconnect architectures and network technologies for high-speed, low-latency interconnects.<\/li>\n<li>Scalable network topologies, suitable for interconnecting a huge number of nodes.<\/li>\n<li>Power saving policies in the interconnect devices and network infrastructure, both at software and hardware level.<\/li>\n<li>Emerging ideas, work-in-progress and early, high-impact achievements.<\/li>\n<li>Good practices in the configuration of the network control software.<\/li>\n<li>Network communication protocols: MPI, RDMA, Hadoop, etc.<\/li>\n<li>APIs and support for programming models.<\/li>\n<li>Routing algorithms.<\/li>\n<li>Quality of Service (QoS).<\/li>\n<li>Reliability and Fault tolerance.<\/li>\n<li>Load balancing and traffic scheduling.<\/li>\n<li>Network Virtualization.<\/li>\n<li>Congestion Management.<\/li>\n<li>Applications and Traffic characterization.<\/li>\n<li>Modeling and simulation tools.<\/li>\n<li>Performance Evaluation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note that papers focused on topics that are too far from the design, development and configuration of high-performance interconnects for HPC systems and Datacenters (e.g., mobile networks, intrusion detection, peer-to-peer networks or grid\/cloud computing)\u00a0will be automatically considered as out of scope and rejected without review.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT DATES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deadline for submissions: <del>June 30, 2016<\/del> <span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>Extended to July 28<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>First rounds of review: <del>September\u00a07, 2016<\/del>\u00a0October 20, 2016<\/li>\n<li>Deadline for revised papers: <del>October\u00a07, 2016<\/del>\u00a0October 30, 2016<\/li>\n<li>Final decision notification: <del>October 23, 2016<\/del>\u00a0November 15, 2016<\/li>\n<li>Estimated publication date: Mid-2017<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All deadlines are set at 11:59 p.m. anywhere on Earth<br \/>\n(cf. http:\/\/wirelessman.org\/aoe.html).<\/p>\n<p><strong>INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This call is open for all contributions, but it also invites selected papers from the 2nd edition of the HiPINEB workshop (http:\/\/hipineb.i3a.info\/hipineb2016).<\/li>\n<li>Authors must abide by the requirement of adding significant novelty to the papers\u00a0submitted to this special issue. Extended versions of conference papers must contain at\u00a0least 50% new content.
