Barcelona, Spain<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The main goal of the second HiPINEB workshop is to gather and discuss in a full-day event the latest and most prominent efforts and advances, both from industry and academia, in the design and development of scalable high-performance interconnection networks, especially those oriented to\u00a0meet the Exascale challenge and Big-data demands.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Main Topics<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The list of topics covered by this workshop includes, but is not limited to, the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interconnect architectures and network technologies for high-speed, low-latency interconnects.<\/li>\n<li>Scalable network topologies, suitable for interconnecting a huge number of nodes.<\/li>\n<li>Power saving policies in the interconnect devices and network infrastructure, both at software and hardware level.<\/li>\n<li>Emerging ideas, work-in-progress and early, high-impact achievements.<\/li>\n<li>Good practices in the configuration of the network control software.<\/li>\n<li>Network communication protocols: MPI, RDMA, Hadoop, etc.<\/li>\n<li>APIs and support for programming models.<\/li>\n<li>Routing algorithms.<\/li>\n<li>Quality of Service (QoS).<\/li>\n<li>Reliability and Fault tolerance.<\/li>\n<li>Load balancing and traffic scheduling.<\/li>\n<li>Network Virtualization.<\/li>\n<li>Congestion Management.<\/li>\n<li>Applications and Traffic characterization.<\/li>\n<li>Modeling and simulation tools.<\/li>\n<li>Performance Evaluation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Important Dates<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">Submission Opens: 15 October 2015<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">Paper submission: <del>18 December 2015<\/del> <span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>31 December 2015 (Hard Deadline)<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">Notification of acceptance: 25 January 2016<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">Early Registration due: 3 February 2016<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">Camera-ready papers due: 1 February 2016<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">Workshop date: 12 March 2016<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Special Issue<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Best papers among those selected for HiPINEB 2016 will be published in the Special Issue on \u201cTrends in High-Performance Interconnection Networks in the Exascale and Big-Data Era\u201d, to be published in the Journal of Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, Wiley, (2014 Impact Factor: 0.997).
